CARTERET COUNTY, NC (April 30, 2024) – The Carteret County Health Department, Carteret Health Care, and Health ENC have partnered to launch the 2024 Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) survey. Conducted every three years, the CHNA aims to identify the most critical health issues facing Carteret County residents. A key component of the CHNA is a community-wide survey available online at https://survey.sogolytics.com/survey1.aspx?k=RQsRXTPYYsSQsPsPsP&lang=0.
Carteret County residents 18 and older are encouraged to participate in the anonymous survey, which takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. The survey is also available in both English and Spanish and is distributed through various community channels to maximize participation. “We are very excited to partner with Carteret Health Care in this very important work,” said Nina Oliver, public health director at the Carteret County Health Department. "By understanding our community's unique health concerns, experiences, and goals, we can better tailor programs and services to address pressing issues.”
The survey covers access to care, community health strengths and barriers, social determinants of health, and more. All responses will be compiled to determine the physical, mental, and environmental health needs of Carteret County residents. The survey results will be carefully analyzed to inform the development of a CHA Report, which will be available to the public in early 2025. This report will serve as a roadmap for prioritizing health initiatives and allocating resources effectively through a health improvement plan.
