Carteret Home Health and Hospice, divisions of Carteret Health Care today announced that both areas have earned distinctions as a Top 20% Superior Performer for Satisfaction. This achievement from Strategic Healthcare Programs (SHP), recognizes organizations for achieving an overall score that ranked in the top 20% in the SHP national Home Health Care Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HHCAHPS) and Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) Hospice benchmarks. This is also for scoring above the SHP national average for each HHCAHPS and CAHPS Hospice quality measure as defined from the patient’s and caregiver’s point of view.
Cindy Jones, VP of Patient Care Services shares, “We are proud that our commitment to quality home health and hospice care has earned us this achievement. We want to continue to be the provider of choice in home health and hospice care in Carteret County by providing the community with the care and support needed in the places they call home.”
The annual SHPBest™ program was created to acknowledge home health and hospice agencies that consistently provide high quality service to their home health patients or caregivers of patients receiving hospice care. With the largest HHCAHPS benchmark in the nation, SHP is in a unique position to identify and recognize organizations that have made patient satisfaction a priority and have been rewarded for their efforts with high marks on the HHCAHPS and the CAHPS Hospice surveys.
SHPBest award recipients are determined by ranking the overall score for all SHP HHCAHPS and CAHPS Hospice clients. Providers that rank in the top 20% receive the Superior Performer award. In addition, all award recipients must have scored better than or equal to the SHP national average for the period for each of the 5 publicly reported domains for Home Health and 8 hospice publicly reported domains.
Jones concludes, “Our entire staff, working as a team, has contributed to this honor and it is our patients that benefit from their efforts.”
