Joan Lamson of Pine Knoll Shores was recently honored by Carteret Health Care (CHC) Foundation during a reception at the Country Club of the Crystal Coast. Mary Carlyle Brown, CHC Foundation's Chairman of the Board, announced that the Cancer Indigent fund will now and forevermore be named the Joan Lamson Benevolent Fund. This vital fund will continue to provide medicines, travel expenses for second opinions, medical supplies and other necessities for cancer patients with the most financial need.
Pat Joyce, CHC Chairman of the Board of Directors noted Mrs. Lamson’s dedicated service to healthcare and CHC began much earlier when she served on the CHC Board of Directors. “Her prior service was a stepping stone for her to later become co-chairman of the Foundation’s highly successful Capital Campaign to build Carteret Health Care’s new Cancer Center which opened in 2015.”
Dick Brvenik. CHC President presented Mrs. Lamson with a resolution from Rep. Pat McElraft along with a NC flag flown over the state capital in her honor.
Mrs. Susan Collins spoke at the event, “Joan Lamson’s contributions to the Foundation have been immeasurable. Mrs. Lamson is esteemed in the community for her nonprofit efforts through philanthropy and Board guidance.”
