Speech Language Pathology

Helping Patients Overcome Speech & Language Disorders

Our speech language pathologists at Carteret Health Care are highly qualified professionals and can help children or adults whose speaking, reading, writing, and processing abilities are impaired. Some of the signs of a speech language disorder may include unclear speech, not combining words, struggling to talk, only saying few words, or not understanding or responding to language.
Difficulty speaking is hard both for a child or an adult, and it can hinder social opportunities and leave the individual feeling depressed as a result. Our goal is to provide treatment that helps these children or adults overcome their functional limitations and learn new and better ways to communicate effectively.

Services are provided to hospital inpatients as well as outpatients and in the home health setting. These services include assessment and treatment of communication impairments and voice disorders. Videofluoroscopic swallow assessments as well as Vital Stim treatment for dysphagia are also available.
