About Dr. Jessup

Dr. Jessup is the Medical Director of Carteret Health Care's Cathertization Lab. He received his undergraduate degree from NC State University in 1993. He received his MD from UNC Chapel Hill in 1997. He completed a Medicine Residency at the University of New Mexico in 2000, and Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology Fellowships at the University of Utah, finishing in 2004. He brings a wealth of training and experience in all aspects of cardiovascular disease, with a vision of bringing a top notch community heart disease program to Morehead City.

Dr. Jessup lives with his family who is his cornerstone and greatest joy. He shared, "We have a wonderfully blended family that brings vibrancy and love into our home. My eldest is currently pursuing aerospace engineering at NCSU and serves as an EMT—his passion for learning and helping others is truly inspiring. My second child is wrapping up high school and has their eyes set on the next big steps in life. Our two bonus children, who are in middle and elementary school, are enthusiastic and full of life—they’ve recently taken up surfing, embracing the coastal lifestyle with all the excitement you’d expect. And, of course, our loyal dog, Scout, is always in the mix, making sure no adventure goes unattended."
